Help from Malaysia

Ahmad Yahya (red shirt) gives a description of the Quran Translation Cham, Khmer and Bahasa Malaysia delegation, recently.

AT each Ramadan, the Global Peace Mission (GPM) Malaysia will send a delegation to Cambodia to deliver Malaysia's gift to those in need.

Different from last year, needs a priority this year is no longer a Malay baju kurung or clothes. Muqaddam and the Quran is the urgent need for the coveted by many young people who love their religion.

Madrasahs around Cambodia is not so much change since the beginning almost certainly come visit. While some are getting a new building assistance, basic education is inadequate.

Indeed, the last Ramadan, Muslims organized tilawah increase the Quran as well as perform the religious duties of other circumcision. So it is Cambodia's Muslim community hope that such practices especially hungry for madrasa students.

However, the lack of resources and references such as the Quran Muqaddam limit the performance of worship.

Muqaddam copy to be shared between four to five people to read.

Quran is only referred to the teaching Ustaz. While the students had to read by rote what is read directly from the teacher.

In addition to reading the Quran, understanding the meaning of the word of the verses is very important. This can only be understood through the explanation of meaning by Ustaz and Priyatna who teaches.

The situation is worrying the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs of Cambodia, who is also president of Cambodian Muslim Community Development (CMCD), Ahmad Yahya, who felt the need to provide copies of the Quran with translation in Khmer and Cham.

He said efforts were mobilized after the motion Muslims seminar participants Consolidation of National Development to be held on February 15, 2009 in Phnom Penh.

The existence of translation of the Qur'an not only can provide opportunities for students to study the Quran with correct tajwid reading, but can understand the meaning behind the beautiful temple of the read.

Add Ahmad, the translation effort has received support from the government of Kuwait and the translators graduated Cambodian citizens in Arab countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Libya. However, no provision yet for the cost of printing.

Intent was initiated two years ago when CMCD set up a special task force in order to realize these ideals.

Checking for revision has been made to ensure the translation meets the real meaning other than trying to avoid spelling errors.

To date, there still Quran translation in Khmer or Cham issued by any party to reference the Muslims in Cambodia.

This is the first time translation of the Qur'an published in the Khmer language of Cambodia.

This year, the editing process has been created and the success of this project began to bear fruit. However, funding constraints limit the printing process of this translation of the Quran with more.

Quran translation among others, seeks return Cham Malay identity of Cambodia who came from Champa. This is done by the use of Jawi characters popularized in the translation of the Cham language.

Armed with the same determination, that would like to see more Muslims in Cambodia can learn the Quran by reading and better understanding, GPM in collaboration with Future Global Network (FGN) has established a fund Printing Project Quran translation from Khmer and Cham Ramadan this year.

Quran translation

So far, only 1.000 copies of the Quran translation to be issued is 10 per cent of the initial target of 10,000 copies of publications. CMCD need for funds at least RM200, 000 to realize the goal.

Simultaneously, the GPM and the FGN Muqaddam Project launched to Cambodia through the sale of coupons. A coupon worth RM5 per copy Muqaddam to sponsor and fund children's education in Cambodia.

Thus, with the involvement of the international community, particularly Muslims in Malaysia who are concerned with their needs, printing Muqaddam and the Quran translation is enhanced.

It can add fun once students have the opportunity to learn in a more comfortable when each has a copy of the Quran Muqaddam or translation.

Donations collected the GPM and the FGN in part submitted during a business trip at 10 to 12 August. It is to pay the printing costs made in Cambodia.

As a result a total of 10.000 copies Muqaddam have been and are distributed in a number of madrasas in Kendal district, Kg Cham and Kampot.

GPM and FGN delegation could see the joy of young children when each of them receive a copy Muqaddam.

Muqaddam as the basis for the introduction of the letters in the Qur'an is an important reference source of knowledge for the children of the Muslim community in Cambodia.

The desire to read the Quran properly terbuku strong in their hearts the hope to control the Muqaddam reading correctly.

GPM and FGN partners in Cambodia, the Cambodian Muslim Intellectual Union (CMIA) is the implementing of projects organized by GPM.

CMIA as a local body knows the current needs and can arrange distribution strategies with more effective assistance from external bodies that are less knowledgeable about the actual situation that occurred.

GPM look up this effort in developing the process for improving the lives of young Muslims in Cambodia. This effort is seen not just simply giving them fish but more to teach them how to fish.

Generally known that Cambodia was the choice of most international organizations in providing charitable contributions to the Muslims there.

However, that does not mean dumping would be sufficient to their needs.

GPM own experience in organizing various projects and humanitarian missions to Cambodia, almost certainly had never met any of the organizations that channel aid to the same target in the project and their mission.

This shows how many Muslims living in Cambodia is lacking.

Consequently, GPM appeal Muslims in Malaysia to continue to contribute to meet the needs Muqaddam and the Quran translation in Cambodia.

Contributions may be made by cash, check or online transfer to the account of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad 12-113-01-003041-2 the name of Future Global Network Foundation and www.futureglobalnetwork.com or call 03-61877020 for more information.

GPM and FGN express our sincere appreciation to the contributors who have and will menginfak part of his property for the benefit of Muslims who are in need.

Good practice in this blessed month be rewarded many times over.
